Funny things...? Maybe...

My lil' man...at his Thanksgiving party in Kindergarten...

So I made another friendship bread last week and Joshua thought Daisy had some when she wasn't supposed to...he said

"Mommy, can I have some cake?"
I said, "Not right now"
He sad "Well, Daisy had some, can't I?"
I said "No, she didn't..."'
He said "Yes, she did"
I asked how he knew that and he said
"I smelled the breath of it" (the cake that is) hehehe

Savannah has been sooo independent lately--she stands up ALL the time. In the middle of the night when she wakes up, at playtime, shower time (mine), anywhere-anytime...I was taking a shower the other night and she was standing up against the shower door watching me and then got the idea to tranfer herself to the laundry basket next to the shower door..she had to do it one hand at a time, though and couldn't do it. She kept sliiiding down the shower door-it was sooo funny, but then she would cry, stand up and try again. It didn't occur to her to just crawl over to the laundry basket, she wanted to "walk" there. So she would stand up again and I would see her hands sliding down again--SO FUNNY--and she would have this look of horror on her face as she was sliding ...poor girl. She stood up again and then I realized, WOW, she has DETERMINATION!!! I do like that part.

In this picture, Lila was showering last night and Savvy really, really wanted to get in--she kept putting her leg up, I think she thought that was how to get in.

Couple nights ago I went in around 3:30 A.M. to get Savannah, who was waking up, and I found Lila in her dolls' pack 'n play--next to her bed. She puts them to bed right next to hers. It's not big at all..she was scrunched up in it, like she was cold. I mean 3:30 in the morning!!! She had no idea what she was doing in there and I almost got the camera, but..didn't.
Lila had picture day at school this week and she wore this outfit... her hair was nicer than this...

Didn't really have anything to write 'bout my Daisy girl this week--love her and thought I would post a few pics of when she was a wee one....so strange, it seems so long ago.

Has it been long enough?

It's so hard to keep up some days ...

So Lila asks me today 'Where do we live in alcohol?'...WHAT??? She was looking at a globe and thought it was called alcohol and I had to tell her it was the United States. No, we hardly drink.. She's been asking me how to spell certain words too...trying to keep up with brother and sister, I suppose. Surprised me, though, when she asked me how to spell "die", then "dishwasher"...is there a correlation I don't know, maybe? I wonder what's going on in that head of hers.

Daisy Lou..a.k.a.Hannah Montana this Halloween..we don't let her watch the show or listen to the music , but she still knows she exists, so why not. She is just too "old" for Daisy. Daisy is determined to be the reader of the week at school this 'week', so she has read, since Sat., almost 600 minutes--crazy, huh? It has helped that we are reading the Chronicles of Narnia together! We just started the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe yesterday. We are also reading The American Girls series for her bookclub.

My lil' pirate man...he is so sweet! He has changed sooo much since Winter/Spring of this year...Thank you God!! He is thriving. We went out last night, just us two, to Round Table-his fav. pizza place. It was family night, so they had face painting and games like Sorry, Connect Four and Guess Who? Then we went to Starbucks and played Tic Tac Toe (who made up that name?) Tomorrow night is Lila's night--Daisy had last Friday...then we're done for awhile until the next round of dates.

Savvy the Wav Wav, Savvy, Rae Rae...my little girl...she was a kitty cat for Hall-O-Harvest...how do you like that holiday name?
She still wakes me every 2 hours or so...it's tough. I've decided it's all my fault. I don't think it's an accident that all 4 of my kids have taken such advantage of me-I LET THEM!! Or maybe they don't get enough calories? Whatever it is, it seems out of my hands.
She has pulled herself to a standing position 4 times now! She is too smart! She LOVES to explore on the floor. She is super tall--97% for her height! She will be 8 months old on Friday! Whoa!!

PS-Kevin and I saw the movie Fireproof--it is AWESOME!! It's nice when you can support Christian films and efforts.

Pickle Appin'

Yup! On our way to apple picking with some friends this weekend, Lila says 'When are we goin pickle appin?' We were getting gas, so she wondered when we would be on our way. We just laughed and laughed and called it that the rest of the day!
Reminds me of the time when, early on in our marriage, Kevin and I were going to Bates Nut Farm and I said 'We need to find out how to get to Nate's Butt Farm'. Couldn't stop laughing!! We still laugh about it.

Here are some pics from our fun day....

Savannah totally enjoying her 1st real apple...

It's official...

Kevin really did break his wrist in Cour d'Alene. He saw a Dr. yesterday who looked at his X-rays. It is still broken, but is healing fine, so far. He is wearing a wrist brace now for the next several weeks. Just thought I would update you on that one...

Mr. Man!

I have to brag...most of you know how shy Joshua can be. We've had issues with his not talking to adults alot of times. He has been improving significantly since Spring, but yesterday was HUGE!

Wed. is Chapel day at school...well, the whole school has a school-wide memory verse. This week it was 2 Cor 13:14...I was told by Joshua's teacher that she asked if anyone wanted to get up and recite the verse. HE RAISED HIS HAND!!! He got up in front of the whole Elementary school and recited, into the big, scary, loud mic...with his cute little East Coast/English "Joshua" accent!!

I was told later that a bunch of girls from Daisy's class kept saying they thought he was cute! This just cracks me up--is this what we're in for in about 10 yrs.?? It was soooo sweet and encouraging to hear this--and what makes it even sweeter was that I was praying at our Mom's prayer meeting and thanking God for his improvement right about the time that Chapel was taking place! That was just extra icing!

Whirlwind of events!!

I don't even know where to begin.

Our trip was great-in some ways.
There is waaaay too much to write, so I will put the basics.
If I on't do it this way, it will be a book-no kidding. We had so many mishaps, it actually became funny.

1. We fly in on a Sat. afternoon-all is well.
2. Sunday we visited a very nice park, which had rides and all kinds of fun things to look at. The park even had a really cool HUGE Red Flyer Wagon!! It was a jungle gym, the wagon. I took pics and will post them soon.
Sunday night Kevin starts sneezing
3. Monday Kevin is worse and Lila has a bad cough
We were in my Mom's nice basement..carpet, tv, couches, bathroom, bedroom...BUT, we had been having a heat wave of 100 degree weather..so Mom had the A/C on ALL night-in the basement-which is COOL and underground. FREEZING! Felt like winter, almost. Figured out the A/C had been blowing on Lila all night.
4. Tuesday, Kevin is sneezing and wheezing and finally took some Benadryl.
5. We leave for Cour d'Alene--check into our hotel, Lila is really bad...coughing and sounding like she has pneumonia. Savvy has been sneezing some.
We check out the hotel, cozy in our room, and watch some Olympics--seeing as though a few of us were out of it. Starts raining....
6. Next day we take Lila and Savvy to a pediatrician in town. Lila checks out ok and Savvy too-Thank God! We were surprised, if you had heard Lila's cough you might be too.
We get back from the Dr. and Savvy starts projectile vomiting. On our bed, on her clothes, etc...
still raining HARD!
7. Next day (Thursday?) Kevin takes D&J bowling while Lila, Savvy and I mostly rest...still cold out, so inside we stay. Kevin comes back from bowling and says he thinks he might have broken his wrist! He went to bowl a ball and he slipped on something slimy! He said it looked like something they might have cleaned the floor with. SO he can't move his wrist--I can see some serious swelling. We get a bucket of ice and he ices it. Next day his wrist is stiff and painful.
8. Friday we actually met up with some people from San Diego that were up their visiting. A girl Daisy goes to school with. Nice people.
9. Saturday, our anniversary. It was a loooong day..but we had our Champagne and Strawberries delivered to our hotel room that evening, which was nice.
Keep in mind, Savvy is still waking every 2-3 hours--agghhhh!!!! All of us, all 6 of us in ONE room!!
10. Sunday, we go back to Mom's in Spokane (30 min. drive)...Kevin decides to stay in a hotel a mile from my Mom's and I planned to stay there too...BUT, wanting to spend some quality time with Mom AND NOT wanting to stay in a hotel room again with 6 people total...I decided to stay at my Mom's with Savvy, while Kevin stayed with the kids...well...here's how that went. (He was really fine with that, btw).

Sunday evening all is well...
Monday evening, my Mom and I are blowing up balloons for Lila's bday party the next day. The phone rings, my Mom says "private number" and I said "Answer it"...that ring just didn't sound right. Well, Kevin was on the other end saying Lila just hit Joshua in the head with 'something' and she wouldn't say what it was and Kevin thought he might need stitches. So my Mom and I take her car and go down the street (about a mile) with Savvy and I in the back seat...her car seat is in our rental, at the hotel, so I am holding her on my lap-Blah!!
Kevin says Joshua had blood all over his face and that his wound was open. So we are freaking!
We get there and it's not as bad as we thought...although, she hit him pretty hard! Daisy and Joshua never hit each other-so this is new to us...yuk! My Mom butterfly-bandaged him and he ended up being fine. Kevin was WHEEZING real bad and almost went to the E.R. himself--forget Joshua! Kevin had been in my Mom's house earlier that day for a couple hours and his allergies started up again. I was really getting worried at that point! He ended up being fine...
then Tuesday we had Lila's 3rd birthday party, which was fun-except the part where she peed her pants (or dress) right when people were arriving.
Plane ride home next day...get home..TIRED, it's 11:30pm when I get out of the shower and brush my teeth...and guess who wants some action? Yup! You guessed it, no need to say more--you've ALL been there, I just know it!

By the way, Dr. says he chipped something in his wrist, so he will be seeing an Orthop. Dr. soon!!

Talk more later...
